How to use Esgic Plus
Follow the directions for using Esgic Plus provided by your doctor. Keep Esgic Plus under room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. If you skip a dose of Esgic Plus and you are using it regularly, take it soon you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Never consume two doses at once.
Esgic Plus Precautions
DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take Esgic Plus for longer than prescribed without consulting with your physician. Exceeding the recommended dose or taking Esgic Plus for longer than prescribed period may be habit-forming. Avoid alcohol consumption while you are using Esgic Plus. Esgic Plus will add to the effects of alcohol and other depressants. Never drive, operate machinery, or do some attentive activity until you know how you react to Esgic Plus. Using Esgic Plus alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Esgic Plus contains ACETAMINOPHEN. Do not take additional acetaminophen for pain or fever without checking with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines contain acetaminophen. Acetaminophen may cause liver damage. If you drink alcohol on a daily basis, do not take Esgic Plus without first discussing it with your doctor. Alcohol use combined with acetaminophen may increase your risk for liver damage. Pain medications work best if they are used as the first signs of pain (or first signs of migraine) occur. If you wait until the pain has significantly worsened, the pain medicine may not work as well. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter (OTC), check with your doctor or pharmacist.
FOR WOMEN TAKING BIRTH CONTROL PILLS: Esgic Plus may decrease the effectiveness of your birth control pills. To prevent pregnancy, use an additional form of birth control while you are taking Esgic Plus. If you plan to become pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Esgic Plus during pregnancy. Esgic Plus IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. Avoid BREAST-FEEDING while taking Esgic Plus.
Esgic Plus Side Effects
Esgic Plus side effects that may go away during treatment include drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or nausea. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
