Medco's Online Pharmacy Clicks with Customers

Online Pharmacy Now Processing 325,000 Prescriptions per Week;
Ranks 5th Among Fortune 100 Companies in Customer Service and Respect

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J., June 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Medco Health Solutions, Inc.'s (NYSE: MHS) Web site, http://www.medco.com, is among the best of the best in the opinion of those who matter the most -- customers.

Medco.com, which processed 3.8 million prescriptions in the first three months of 2004, ranked 5th in online customer respect and service, according to a new study rating the Web sites of Fortune magazine's top 100 companies. The study, conducted by The Customer Respect Group, a Bellevue, Wash.-based research and consulting organization, rated the value of the Web sites using metrics that consumers say rate most critical -- ranging from quick response to inquiries, to security in protecting personal information.

Medco, which scored an 8.1 out of a possible 10, was joined in the top five by Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Bank of America. The top scoring sites in the study were largely recognized for their ease of use, transparency in regards to their privacy policies, and how they use visitors' personal
information.

"We are now handling more than a million online customer service transactions a week, which requires us to always be mindful of the needs and goals of our clients' members," said Tom Feitel, Medco's senior vice president of eCommerce. "We appreciate public recognition, but we're not done yet, and
we are committed to continuous improvement of the member experience on medco.com."

According to Medco, medco.com processes an average of 325,000
prescriptions per week, mostly 90-day supply, and its monthly traffic exceeds
that of its two largest PBM competitors combined. The site processes
approximately 30 percent of all the refills and renewal requests that Medco
receives, and boasts more than 4.1 million registered users.

Earlier this year, medco.com received several industry awards, including
four "2004 Medicine on the Net Web Excellence Awards," four national "World
Wide Web Health Awards," and five "2003 eHealthcare Leadership Awards,"
including two Gold awards and a Silver for medco.com and two Silver awards for
Medco's Client Web site. Medco.com and the Client Web site also received
"Outstanding Web site Award" and "Standard of Excellence" recognition,
respectively, in the 2003 Web Award Competition, sponsored by the Web
Marketing Association.
